Police "consider arresting security officials who prevent the execution of secondary warrants"

2025.01.06 PM 03:42
The special police investigation team has warned that it will consider arresting President Yoon Suk Yeol as a current offender if the Presidential Security Service again blocks him from executing an arrest warrant.

An official from the special group said at a briefing today (6th), "We have been steadily reviewing it with the high-ranking government official's criminal investigation office."

In addition, he/she said that he/she considered the deployment of a police commando or a criminal mobile unit at the time of the first execution on the 3rd, and that he/she will consider all measures that can be done for additional execution.

The special team said it demanded Park Jong-joon, the head of the bodyguard, to appear twice for obstructing the execution of the warrant, but still did not express his intention to attend.

However, regarding Minister Park and other senior security officials who have been booked, he explained that based on the evidence collected so far, it is not unreasonable to apply the special public affairs execution charges.
