Vietnam's Kim Sang-sik's "Golden Return" Award has already exceeded 1 billion won.
The Vietnamese national soccer team, led by head coach Kim Sang-sik, won the 2024 Mitsubishi Electric Cup, Southeast Asia's largest soccer tournament, and will receive more than 1 billion won in rewards.

According to local media such as Vietnamese News, major institutions, banks, and the Vietnam Football Association have provided or decided to provide at least 20 billion won to the national team that has led Vietnam to the top of Southeast Asian soccer in six years.

Local Vietnamese bank LP Bank has decided to pay 5 billion dong, while Hanoi People's Committee, Agribank and SHB Bank have also announced that they will give 2 billion dong each to the national team.

Agribank also offered an additional reward worth about $10,000 and 14.5 million won in our money for Nguyen Xuan Son, a naturalized Brazilian player who scored seven goals in the tournament.

Immediately after winning the championship on the 5th, the Vietnamese national team received $300,000 and 440 million won as prize money for the tournament.

While the reward is expected to increase further in the future, Vietnamese media predicted that Kim and his players, who have emerged as national heroes, will earn considerable income through advertising.

The national team, which returned to Hanoi from Bangkok, Thailand, where the final was held earlier, received a warm welcome from citizens on the side of the road as they paraded buses from the airport to the city center.

Prime Minister Palm Min-jin, who welcomed them at the government building, presented the national team with the first-class labor order, the third-class labor order, and the achievement award to the 29 team members.

"It's not just a victory, it's about celebrating our collective spirit and dedication as a breakthrough," Zin said, adding that he was grateful for players and coaches who struggled to beat rival Thailand on behalf of the country.

In response, head coach Kim expressed his gratitude to the government, Prime Minister Jean, Vietnamese fans and support teams for their unwavering support at this tournament.

"With the support of the government and fans, we promise to move forward," Kim said.
