Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, made a brief visit to Greenland, which was controversial over his father's purchase remarks.
On the 7th local time, Trump Jr. visited Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, on his father's personal plane.
Before landing, Trump Jr. posted a video of him looking down at Greenland from the back of the cockpit to X, saying, "I came to Greenland...It's very, very cold!!"
also told local media, "I was originally going to visit last spring," adding, "I'm really happy to be here, and I came as a tourist to see this amazing place, and my father asked me to say hello to everyone in Greenland."
Trump Jr., who is considered a behind-the-scenes power of the upcoming second Trump administration, is said to have put forward a video shoot for a podcast for the purpose of visiting Greenland.
The stay is about four to five hours, and there is no schedule to meet with Greenland government officials.
Trump Jr.'s visit was accompanied by Sergio Gor and James Blair, who were named White House human resources director and deputy chief of staff.
"Greenland is not for sale," Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said on the day.
This is the first statement of position after Trump recently made his intention to purchase Greenland.
Asked at a press conference whether he could promise not to use military force or economic coercion to take control of the Panama Canal and Greenland, Trump said, "I can't say for sure."
Greenland, with a population of about 57,000, is a self-governing Danish territory.
Trump said last month that he could demand the return of ownership of the Panama Canal, and that he would buy Greenland and has repeatedly spoken, increasing the conflict.
