The People's Power and the government have decided to designate the 27th, the Monday just before the Lunar New Year holiday, as a temporary holiday.
The plan is to boost the domestic economy through the six-day holiday, but if you take a day off on the 31st, which is Friday after the Lunar New Year holiday, you can have up to nine days of golden holidays.

The first high-level party council held under the acting system of Choi Sang-mok was focused on "minimizing economic chaos" in the impeachment process.
First of all, on the 27th of this month, the party and the government took out the card to designate a temporary holiday.
It cited a rebound in consumer sentiment and the revitalization of the tourism industry, which have been dampened by various negative factors such as the emergency martial law crisis amid prolonged sluggish domestic demand.
[Kim Sang-hoon / Chairman of the People's Power Policy Committee: It is expected that positive effects such as boosting the domestic economy and boosting tourism will be significant, and it will also play a role in improving the quality of life by expanding opportunities for rest to the public....]
If the Lunar New Year holiday, which is from the 28th to the 30th of this month, is designated as a temporary holiday on the 27th, a six-day holiday will be created from the previous weekend.
On top of that, if you take a day off on the 31st, you can have a maximum of 9 days of golden holidays.
The ruling party and the government also discussed countermeasures related to external economic uncertainties, such as strengthening protection trade following the launch of the second Trump administration and the acceleration of the U.S.-China conflict.
They agreed to focus on quick and efficient response by operating a 10 trillion won supply chain fund, expanding communication channels with the U.S., and weekly meetings on foreign economic issues.
[Choi Sang-mok / Acting President: We will establish strategies for each major issue, such as raising tariffs and abolishing the IRA (Inflation Reduction Act), and diversify our export and investment supply chains.]
Efforts to minimize confusion in the financial market due to martial law were also discussed.
The government plans to stabilize the bond short-term fund market by operating the F4 conference, and the National Assembly plans to speed up legislative support, including amendments to the Special Semiconductor Act and the Capital Market Act.
[Kwon Young-se / People's Power Emergency Committee Chairman: It is of paramount importance to ensure that political turmoil does not spread to the economy and administration. Please promote routine or essential personnel appointments normally.]
The party and the government will soon announce measures related to the smooth supply and demand of holy goods and price stability during the Lunar New Year holiday.
