Tours tops Melon's annual chart with debut song...K-pop's milestone for the first time in 14 years.
Group Tours reached the top of Melon's annual chart in 2024 with its debut song.

According to the "2024 Melon Annual Chart" released by Melon today (9th), the title song of Tours' debut album "Sparkling Blue" won first place.

It has been 14 years since Miss A's "Bad Girl Good Girl" in 2010 that she topped Melon's annual chart on her debut song. In addition, it is the first time in about six years that the boy group has topped the chart since the icon's "LOVE SCENARIO" in 2018.

Tours made a public sensation with its own genre, "Boyhood Pop," which evokes beautiful appreciation in everyday life with "The First Meeting Doesn't Go As Planned." The song, which was ranked first in two digital and streaming categories in the first half of 2024, is still on the long run, staying in various chart rankings for a year since its release.

Based on its strong addictive nature, "The first meeting does not go as planned," it was also very popular on social media. The song ranked 6th in the "Top Song" Korean region in TikTok's year-end settlement, followed by 4th in Korea's "Shorts' Most Popular Song" and 6th in the "Most Popular Song" on YouTube, a video platform. Tours is the only K-pop boy group in the top ranks of TikTok's "Top Song" and YouTube's "Most Popular Song."

In addition, "First Meeting Doesn't Go As Planned" was selected as the "2024 Best K-Pop Song" by Billboard in the U.S. and NME in the U.K. Thanks to this performance, Tours won the most awards among debut artists in 2024, lifting a total of 13 trophies at the prestigious music awards.

Tours also stood out in the album category, achieving three consecutive "half million sellers" with albums and singles released in Korea last year. In addition, they will hold their first solo fan meeting "2025 TWS 1ST FANMEETING <42:CLUB" in Seoul and Tokyo in February and March, respectively.
