The Ministry of National Defense said it has launched dismissal and disciplinary proceedings against four people, including Yeo In-hyeong, commander of the Defense Security Command, and Moon Sang-ho, commander of intelligence, who have been arrested and charged with engaging in important missions of rebellion.
An official from the Ministry of National Defense said, "We have notified these four individually of the deliberation on the dismissal of their positions, and we will be able to reach a conclusion by next week."
He also added that additional legal review is underway on the dismissal of Army Chief of Staff Park An-soo, who served as martial law commander.
In addition, he announced that he has begun disciplinary procedures, such as granting disciplinary numbers to key commanders, including President Park, who has been arrested and prosecuted for the emergency martial law incident.
In the meantime, Acting Defense Minister Kim Sun-ho explained that the instructions to the commander of the presidential security unit that there should be no physical conflict with the police were given to prevent our troops from taking unnecessary responsibility.
