The government said it would reinforce preventive personnel and equipment after it was pointed out that Muan International Airport had poor manpower and equipment related to the risk of bird collisions in connection with the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster.
Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Park Sang-woo attended a report on pending issues related to the airliner disaster of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee today (14th) and said, "We believe that more advanced and advanced bird observation, detection, and eradication facilities are needed and manpower reinforcement is necessary."
In this regard, Park Yong-gap of the Democratic Party of Korea pointed out that there is no bird detection radar in Korea because conventional methods such as guns and LP gas binge drinkers are used to fight birds.
Kim Jung-jae, a member of the People's Power, also urged Muan International Airport to come up with thorough measures as the eight newly promoted airports are migratory birds, saying that Muan International Airport has not taken effective measures even after being pointed out several times about the risk of bird collisions.
