Acting President Choi Sang-mok meets with Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya, "Korea-U.S.-Japan cooperation is essential."

Acting President Choi Sang-mok met with Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya at the Government Complex in Seoul today and agreed that cooperation between Korea, the U.S., and Japan is more important than ever, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance said.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance said at today's meeting that the two sides agreed that South Korea and Japan, which share values and interests, will continue to work together to develop bilateral relations and steadily implement the commemorative projects that have been prepared together to mark the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations.

It also said that they agreed to continue close economic cooperation based on the complementary relationship between the two industries amid growing uncertainties in the trade environment.

At the same time, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said it confirmed mutual support for the APEC summit, which is chaired by South Korea, and the cooperation process between South Korea and Japan, which is chaired by Japan.
