South Korea today resumed exporting milk to China, the world's fastest growing market for dairy products, this week after a 14-month suspension.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said a five-ton shipment of sterilized milk is expected to arrive in China later today, marking the first delivery of South Korean milk to China since May 2014.

Shipments of Korean sterilized milk to China were suspended after Beijing revised its law to accept shipments of milk from registered foreign exporters only.

After a series of negotiations, three Korean milk producers have been formally enrolled with the Chinese government as foreign exporters.

China imported South Korean dairy products, including milk, valued at more than 91 million dollars in 2013.
