The first autumn leaves of the year have begun on Mt. Seorak.

The start of autumn leaves refers to the time when the entire mountain is colored about 20% from the top, and this year started four days later than last year and six days later than usual.

The Korea Meteorological Administration explained that the fall foliage was colored late this year because Sokcho's lowest temperature since mid-September was 17.6 degrees and Mt. Seorak was 11.6 degrees, which was 1 to 2 degrees higher than usual.

Starting with Seoraksan Mountain, autumn leaves are expected to be colored on Bukhansan Mountain on October 18 and Naejangsan Mountain on the 24th.

The peak of autumn leaves is when about 80% of the entire mountain is colored, and usually appears about 20 days after the start of autumn leaves.
