The Democratic Party of Korea criticized the prosecution's request for an arrest warrant for Shin Young-dae due to allegations of corruption in preferential treatment in the solar power business, saying that it intended to reduce the quorum of the National Assembly's decision.
Spokesman Han Min-soo told reporters that the prosecution can prosecute if there is a criminal act, but the request for a warrant seems to have various political intentions ahead of an important parliamentary vote.
Chairman Lee Jae-myung then explained that he ordered the party's legal committee to review the allegations, the need for Shin's arrest, and the possibility of political oppression.
