People's Power Deepfake Digital Sex Offenses Special Committee says it is pushing for legislation to confiscate deepfake crime profits.
Ahn Cheol Soo, the chairman of the special committee, held a meeting and said the government and the ruling party will pass related bills at the regular session of the National Assembly to make sure that those who commit deepfake crimes are caught and humiliated.
The special committee also decided to push for amendments to the Telecommunications Business Act to apply the principles of pre-blocking and post-deliberation to quickly protect victims.
In addition, he explained that he will increase the budget by 21.7 billion won in 13 projects to prevent digital sex crimes and support victims during next year's budget review process.
