National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik, who attended the G20 National Assembly Speaker's Meeting, proposed to the international community the launch of a chairman-level conference to address the climate crisis.
Speaking at the second session of the G20 parliamentary speaker's meeting in Brasilia, Brazil, Wu said the role of the G20 parliament has become more important to protect the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Following Wu's proposal, a joint declaration will be adopted unanimously at the following meeting, stating that the G20 Parliament will continue to engage in climate change cooperation activities at the highest possible level.
