The Democratic Party of Korea, which is preparing to revise the Special Prosecutor Act for First Lady Kim Gun-hee, decided to push for a "third party recommendation" method in which the opposition party selects two people after the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court recommends four people, and the president appoints one of them.
The Democratic Party of Korea said that the revised independent counsel law will apply mutatis mutandis to the third-party recommendation method of the Chae Sang-byung independent counsel law.
He then explained that he will add a so-called "vitual right" that allows the opposition party to demand re-recommendation through the speaker of the National Assembly over candidates recommended for the chief justice.
He added that the scope of the investigation will target suspicions about Deutsche Motors' involvement in stock price manipulation and Myung Tae-kyun's involvement in the election, interests, and personnel intervention.
