The first trial of an illegal immigrant accused of killing a female college student was held in Georgia in February, with U.S. President-elect Trump signaling a massive deportation of illegal immigrants.

The murder of a female college student by an illegal entrant has heated up the border control debate in the United States, and Trump is speeding up his campaign to expel illegal immigrants.

The family of Raken Riley, a 22-year-old college student who was killed while working out in the morning in February, enters the courthouse.

In the first trial, which was held with family and friends in attendance, the prosecutor gave evidence of the murder of Jose Ibarra, an illegal entrant with Venezuelan nationality, and called for justice.

[Sheila Ross / Prosecutor: He (Jose Ibarra) hunted women on the University of Georgia campus. These evidence will show that Laken fought for his life, fought for dignity, and left forensic evidence.]

As Ibarra, who illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in 2022, was found to be a suspect, Trump highlighted the crime during the presidential election and made a key pledge to expel illegal immigrants.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President-elect (March): Riley would be alive today if Joe Biden hadn't deliberately and maliciously removed America's borders and freed countless criminals.]

I promise her family tonight. I'll ask for justice for Riley.

Trump, who announced on his first day in office that he would launch the largest deportation in U.S. history, is also accelerating.

Following the nomination of former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan to the border tsar to oversee immigration policy, Stephen Miller, who designed the illegal immigrant deportation operation, was named deputy White House chief of staff for policy.

As Homeland Security Secretary, the three are expected to name immigration hardliner South Dakota Gov. Kristinom and put Trump's hardline immigration policy into action.

They are also planning to double the number of illegal immigrant detention facilities and detain them with their parents if they have underage children.

We are also looking into mobilizing the 'Enemy Country National Act' made 226 years ago so that it does not go through the immigration court's trial for rapid deportation.

In his first call with Mexico's president shortly after his election, Trump, who came under pressure by referring to the border, also heralded a tariff bomb in Mexico.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President-elect (last 4 days): If we don't stop criminals and drugs from entering the U.S., we will inform her (Mexican President) that we will immediately impose a 25% tariff on all goods they send to the U.S. on their first day in office or sooner.]

Mexican Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard says he is prepared not to give in to U.S. administration demands and will respond with "counter-tariffs" if the U.S. imposes 25% tariffs.
