Shin Won-sik, head of the National Security Office, said he understands that Russia provided related equipment and anti-aircraft missiles to North Korea to reinforce Pyongyang's air defense.
Shin appeared on SBS News today and said this when asked about the price of North Korea's dispatch to the war in Ukraine.
Shin explained that since North Korea failed a military reconnaissance satellite in May, Russia has already vowed to support satellite-related technologies since last year, and some other military technologies are coming in.
He also said he could not rule out the possibility of North Korea sending additional troops to the Russia-Ukraine war at all, but that nothing has been confirmed at this time.
On the possibility of the Russia-Ukraine war escalating into a world war, Shin said Russia's nuclear weapons are very difficult to actually use.
