In addition, the Democratic Party of Korea has decided to file a complaint with the prosecution against President Yoon Suk Yeol, First Lady Kim Gun-hee, and Myung Tae-kyun on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act and the Political Fund Act and obstructing business.
The party's "Myeong Tae-kyun Gate Fact-Finding Team" said at a press conference that it will file a complaint with the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office to find out the connection between Myung and President Yoon and his wife and urge them to investigate the facts of the illegal poll.
The investigation team argued that Myung's intervention was likely to have had a decisive impact on the primary process, saying that it was revealed that he used non-public opinion polls to manipulate the data in favor of then-candidate Yoon.
He also urged the prosecution to immediately launch an investigation into the allegations, saying that if the polls conducted for President Yoon were provided free of charge, he received the funds for political activities without reporting them.
