Omari Great Mosque', the oldest mosque in Gaza.

Opened in the 7th century, Omari Mosque was destroyed by Israeli airstrikes, with its beautiful spire collapsed and its walls and outer walls destroyed.

It was severely damaged during World War I and was only restored, but it was ruined again in 100 years.

The Palestinian Ministry of Culture says hundreds of historic and culturally significant buildings have been destroyed in the past year.

Residents are sad that everything beautiful in Gaza has been destroyed.

[Mahmud Aral / Gaza City Residents: All of Gaza's historical monuments, including the gold market, al-Omari Great Mosque, Hamam al-Samra, the palace of Pasha, and the cathedral, have been destroyed, leaving everyone in Gaza sad. None of them survived.]

War-hit areas are spreading to Lebanon.

Balbeck, home to the ancient Roman site of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was in danger when bombs fell 500 meters from the site.

[Mohammad Jaffa / Balbeck resident] Israeli airstrikes have bombed our gas station. Look where Hezbollah's facilities are here.Valbec, a historic city with historic sites such as

ancient Roman temples, has been targeted by Israeli forces because it is an active area of Hezbollah.

Gaza has lost its former appearance due to the war that has been going on for more than a year.

[Joseph Featherman / AP Regional Director for Middle East: The damage in Gaza is more severe. There are situations that have never been done before here. There are things that have never been seen on at least this scale, with mosques, schools, hospitals all under attack.

UNESCO expressed concern that more important sites could be damaged by the Gaza war.

Experts warn that it will not be easy to restore what has been destroyed by the war, which has no end in sight, that crosses the line in every way.
