You don't have a picture of your teacher in your yearbook?

Deepfake scares have teachers hesitant to put pictures in their yearbooks.

I'm worried that the teacher's face will fall out of the graduation album or the graduation album will disappear.

Let me take a closer look.

The Korean Federation of Teachers' Associations recently surveyed 3,500 teachers.

More than nine out of 10 teachers said they were concerned that their photos on their yearbooks would be stolen or infringed on their portrait rights by deepfake sex crimes.

Because of this concern, nearly 7 out of 10 people even think they should not make a yearbook.

About 4 out of 10 respondents said that even if they made a yearbook, they should not include a teacher's photo at all.

This fear of teachers is due to the fact that there are not a few actual cases of damage.

According to a recent survey by the Ministry of Education, more than 30 cases of deepfake damage by teachers have been reported this year.

As a result of this, most teachers are concerned that everyday photographs, such as school trips and field trips, will be used for crimes in addition to their yearbooks.

I feel bitter about the reality that the teacher's appearance disappeared from the graduation album and even avoided taking photos with a priest.

In the survey, teachers ranked "strengthening perpetrators' punishment and mandatory education" as the top priority to eradicate deepfake crimes, but it is questionable whether this alone will prevent the increasing number of deepfake crimes with technological advances.

It seems necessary to come up with practical measures to protect the school scenery we knew.
