Residents of Bupyeong, Incheon, suffered great inconvenience overnight due to the slow recovery of damaged gas pipes amid the sudden chilly weather.

There have also been a series of incidents, including power outages in large apartment complexes and fires in delivery vehicles.

Some of the gas pipes were damaged by water leaks from the surrounding water pipes.

It was around 7 a.m. yesterday morning that an abnormality was found in a pipe that supplies gas to more than 2,700 households in Bugae-dong and Ilshin-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon.

As restoration efforts continued throughout the night, residents who could not use boilers or gas stoves all day in chilly weather had to suffer great inconvenience.

[A nearby resident: He can't wash, he can't eat. / I'm going to heat it up with a coffee pot and wash it even if it's a little lukewarm. There's no way.]

[Neighbor B: It's been cold all day. I caught a cold because of that. It's uncomfortable to cook because there's no gas fire....]

Incheon City Gas, which completed the restoration in about 20 hours, explained that it took time to drain all the water from all over the long pipes.

The loading box of a large truck stopped on the side of the road was blackened.

Last night, an 11-ton parcel delivery vehicle near the Cheongju Gangseo Interchange in the direction of Nami on the Jungbu Expressway caught fire.

A driver in his 50s was rushed to evacuate and no one was injured, but many of the courier cargoes in the vehicle were burned down.

The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire based on an article's statement that the fire started in the rear wheels of the vehicle.

In Geoje-dong, Yeonje-gu, Busan last evening, power supply to a large apartment complex was cut off.More than 1,100 generations of
