The Supreme Court ruled that a pastor who criticized the sexual orientation of a college student who did not know and even disclosed his real name and face could be punished for defamation.
On the 8th, the Supreme Court confirmed the original court's fine of 500,000 won for Mr. Seo, who was charged with defamation.
The Supreme Court pointed out that revealing facts that belong to the victim's secret private domain, not even a public figure, on the Internet along with his real name or face is a serious violation of his or her personal rights in itself.
Seo, a pastor of the church, was put on trial in 2018 on charges of revealing that A was living in a multilateral love affair and a polyamory life on his blog.
Later, the first trial acquitted him, but the second trial fined him 500,000 won for writing for slander, including repeatedly emphasizing that the victim's sexual orientation was not right, and the Supreme Court also ruled the same.
