Seoul Metropolitan Government "Estrokes Out Illegal Release of Electric Kickboard and Bicycle Speed Limits"

The Seoul Metropolitan Government has decided to respond strongly to the frequent lifting of speed limits on electric kickboards and electric bicycles.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it will first ask the Korea Communications Standards Commission and Google Korea to block or delete YouTube videos that guide how to lift the top speed of electric kickboards and electric bicycles, and will continue to check related contents.

In addition, the city, police, and autonomous districts are jointly conducting crackdowns and guidance in areas with frequent electric kickboard accidents, around subway stations, and university districts.

Currently, the legal maximum speed of electric bicycles is 25km/h, and if they are modified, they will be sentenced to up to six months in prison or fined up to 5 million won, and if they do not report their use even after modifying the maximum speed of the electric kickboard to more than 25km/h, a fine of 500,000 won will be imposed.The city of
