"People's individual desires are sometimes applied, but they are also distorted and perverse desires. I thought it would be interesting and fun to see the process of those desires becoming a case, and I directed the work with the meaning of facing the right me when I face it correctly. Rather than the medical practice of surgery, we focused on the hearts and desires of doctors, patients and caregivers involved in it."(Director Cho Rok-hwan)
The production presentation of KBS 2TV's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Face Me' was held at 2 p.m. today (6th) in Sindorim the St., Guro-gu, Seoul. Director Cho Rok-hwan, who directed the work, as well as actors Lee Min-ki, Han Ji-hyun, Lee Yi-kyung, and Jeon Bae-soo attended the production presentation to talk about the work.
'Face Me' is a medical drama in which a cold plastic surgeon and a passionate violent MZ detective pursue the truth of the case through reconstructive plastic surgery for victims of crime. In this work, Lee Min-ki plays Cha Jung-woo, a double board specialist who has studied both emergency medicine and plastic surgery, and Han Ji-hyun returns as Lee Min-hyung, a detective in the hot-blooded MZ gang.
At the production presentation, director Cho Rok-hwan said, "I think many people will be interested in the subject of plastic surgery, but I also felt curious and interested in plastic surgery. But I wanted to deal with people's hearts and desires behind the plastic surgery," he said, explaining the reason for the production.
He continued, "The conclusion of the drama is about 'What is really to be happy?' I do plastic surgery and get greedy to be happy, and it tells the story of what to do to be really happy after the process. I hope people who want to be happy see it," he added.

The casting process of Lee Min-ki and Han Ji-hyun was also revealed. Director Cho focused on casting actors with sophisticated and modern images. He said, "Lee Min-ki and Han Ji-hyun both have very modern looks. I cast it with the thought that it would fit our drama. However, it is very sophisticated, modern, and urban, but when you meet it in real life, it is very human," he said, expressing satisfaction with working with the two actors.
In response, Lee Min-ki said, "There are stories about plastic surgery as a doctor, but it is a story about victims of crime. "I chose the work because it was attractive because the episodes of collaborating with detectives and finding the truth of the past and the story behind it coexisted," he said.
Han Ji-hyun also said, "As a detective, I am excited and happy to show various aspects. I hope it will be a drama that recovers not only the perpetrators but also the victims, and that viewers will recover together," he added, showing off his affection for the work.
"Face Me," which draws attention with the meeting of two fresh materials, plastic surgery, crime, and plastic surgery, is set to premiere tonight at 9:50 p.m.
