Ruling and opposition parties, Presidential Office Budget and Presidential Golf Workshop at the Steering Committee

The ruling and opposition parties argued at a plenary session of the National Assembly Steering Committee over the opposition's demand for budget cuts in the presidential office.

People's Power lawmakers criticized the Democratic Party of Korea for slashing the presidential office-related special activity costs and work promotion costs, saying that it paralyzes the government's function.

On the other hand, the Democratic Party argued that all budgets, let alone increased, should be cut, citing the controversy over the presidential security's overreaction, and refuted that budgets that cannot be proven, such as special activity expenses, have to be considered.

The ruling and opposition parties continued their war of words over President Yoon Suk Yeol's use of a military golf course.

The Democratic Party pointed out that since August, President Yoon has falsely explained that he played golf during the South Korea-U.S. joint military drills, Bucheon hotel fires, and North Korea's filth balloon drop, and that he was preparing for the election of Trump's candidate in the U.S.

Hong Chul-ho, senior presidential secretary for political affairs, refuted that the president's golf has never been the subject of political strife in any previous administration, and the people's power also defended the president to exercise for his health.
