A civic group has urged the prosecution to investigate former President Roh Tae-woo's slush fund allegations in the divorce lawsuit between SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and Art Center Director Noh So-young.

The Military Government's Crime Profit Bureau Returning Promotion Committee held a rally in front of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office this afternoon (22nd) and claimed that the prosecution did not launch a slush fund investigation into former President Roh even a month after receiving the accusation.

He then urged the prosecution to open an investigation as soon as possible, saying that it is impossible to investigate and punish former President Roh, but it is legally possible to investigate director Roh who participated in the concealment and proliferation of criminal proceeds.

The prosecution is reviewing whether to investigate those involved, including Chairman Choi, Director Roh, and former President Roh's wife Kim Ok-sook, on charges of hiding slush funds and evading taxes.

Earlier in May, the second trial court for Choi and Roh's divorce ruled that Roh's contribution to the group's growth should be recognized as Roh's slush fund flowed to Choi Jong-hyun, former chairman of SK Group, and became seed money for the group.
