Justice Minister Park Sung-jae, who passed the impeachment bill at the National Assembly, said he apologized, but said he could not agree with the reason for the impeachment at all.
Immediately after the impeachment bill crossed the threshold of the National Assembly, Minister Park apologized, saying, "I apologize to the people who were impeached after failing to fulfill their duties as a member of the State Council."
However, he stressed that he would faithfully respond to the impeachment process of the Constitutional Court, saying that the reasons for the impeachment are only speculations and suspicions and cannot be agreed at all.
He added that he sincerely hopes that the opposition's ongoing impeachment prosecution will not lead to paralysis of the executive branch's functions.
