President Yoon Suk Yeol's statement, which came two days before the second impeachment vote, heightened the enthusiasm for the candlelight rally calling for the president's impeachment.

Amid rallies across the country, some participants clashed with police as they marched to their official residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul.

Candles and cheering sticks waved by citizens who filled the front of the National Assembly building form colorful waves.

The rally has been held all week, but citizens have not stopped calling for "President Yoon's immediate resignation."Impeach the

" Yoon Suk Yeol! Impeach Yoon Suk Yeol!"

Citizens who marched 900m to the People's Power Party urged the ruling party to vote in favor of impeachment.

In order to condemn the earlier rejection, he even tore up a huge banner containing the names and photos of 105 lawmakers who were absent in the first vote by hand.

[Kim Ji-young, Shin Yu-ri / High school student: I came out thinking that I should win my rights as a citizen now since the final exam is over. (President Yoon) I think it would be better to look back on what he did.]

The protesters of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, which began in front of Seoul City Hall, headed to the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, where they once confronted the police and had a physical fight.

I originally planned to join the rally in front of the National Assembly, but I changed my route after hearing President Yoon's public statement.

[Yang Kyung-soo / Chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions: The Yoon Suk Yeol will be over in two days. Let's send the Yoon Suk Yeol to prison now, comrades]

Conservative groups also held a rally near Seoul City Hall against the impeachment of President Yoon, but there was no conflict between the two sides.

Candlelight vigils and conservative groups plan to continue their pro- and anti-impeachment rallies, respectively, until the voting on the impeachment bill is held on the 14th.
