Commander of the U.S. Space Force in South Korea "Enhance North Korea's Missile Alert by Expanding Troops"

U.S. Space Force Commander John Patrick in South Korea says he will increase the size of his unit to increase alertness against North Korean missiles.

"We will track any kind of missile launch with our satellite," Patrick told Japan's NHK regarding North Korea. "Information is particularly shared with South Korea and also shared with Japan."

He also made it clear that he would strengthen the missile alert, saying, "I hope we can double the size of our 90-member unit by the end of next year."

Asked whether the turmoil in South Korea after the "December 3 emergency martial law incident" affects the cooperation between South Korea and the U.S., Commander Patrick stressed, "The relationship between South Korea and the U.S. has not changed at all."

The U.S. Space Force in Korea is an organization that conducts space missions such as regional missile alerts and satellite communications, and was established on Dec. 14 last year.
