After the Supreme Prosecutors' Office decided to hand over President Yoon Suk Yeol's alleged rebellion to the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, the Prosecutor General sent a letter to the prosecutors himself.

It seems that the investigation team has started to evolve as signs of internal strife such as resistance from the investigation team have emerged.

Reporter Shin Ji-won reports.

On the same day that the prosecution handed over the emergency martial law case of President Yoon Suk Yeol to the Criminal Investigation Office of high-ranking officials,
Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung sent a letter directly to the national prosecutor late at night.

The prosecution has always proposed a joint investigation to the National Investigation Headquarters of the police and the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, but it was not accepted,

If the prisoner requests a case transfer, he or she is obliged to follow it.

At the same time, he stressed that no pretext should be left for due process in a serious case in which the fate of the state depends.

It is believed that the government has started to extinguish the internal backlash against passing over the investigation into President Yoon, who has advanced to the point of notifying him of summons.

President Shim also said that both the cases transferred to the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the police investigation cases will be sent to the prosecution, and the special case will eventually make the final investigation and decision.

In fact, the prosecution said that when the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, which does not have the authority to prosecute the president, makes a request for prosecution against President Yoon, it can secure the final time for investigation. It has been confirmed that they are discussing the deadline for the arrest investigation with the
Airborne Division.

However, it is a variable that if a special prosecutor is launched, all investigation and prosecution powers against the president will be transferred to the special prosecutor.

In the end, how quickly the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit will investigate and when the independent counsel for the civil war investigation will be launched will determine the final person to judge the disposition of President Yoon.
