Yongin City announced that the "Dongdong Public Housing District" and the so-called "Dongdong-eup Semiconductor Specialized New Town" project, which will serve as the background city of Yongin Semiconductor National Industrial Complex, recently passed the deliberation by the Central Urban Planning Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
With the passage of this deliberation, the designation of the "mobile public housing district" will be announced in January next year.
The Central Urban Planning Commission has given the condition that the ratio of park green areas is secured as much as possible in the land use plan.
Yongin City predicts that the project, which was originally scheduled to be completed in 2034, will be advanced by about two years to 2031.The city of
said, "We will do our best to work closely with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) to ensure that the conditions are implemented well, as the conditions for passing through are to secure green space as much as possible."
Earlier in November last year, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced a plan to create a new semiconductor-specific new city with 16,000 households (36,800 people) on a 2.28 million square meter area in Idong-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si.
The new city is adjacent to the high-tech system semiconductor national industrial complex in Dong-dong and Namsa-eup, where Samsung Electronics invests 360 trillion won, and when the national industrial complex is established, it is expected to serve as a hinterland city where industrial complex workers and others live.
