Flu patients 2.3x in a week ↑...Surge in the number of children and adolescents

Flu cases are increasing rapidly, especially among children and adolescents.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the number of suspected flu patients was 31.3 per 1,000 outpatients from the 15th to the 21st, up 2.3 times from a week ago.

In particular, adolescents aged 13 to 18 had the highest percentage of 74.6 per thousand, followed by children aged 7 to 12 with 62.4.

The number of suspected flu patients has increased for seven consecutive weeks, and the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a flu epidemic warning nationwide on the 20th.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urged children, pregnant women, and the elderly over 65 to get vaccinated.
