Zelensky courts Trump enthusiastically..."The unprecedented strong will end the war".

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has launched a full-fledged courtship of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump as a strategy to end the war in his favor.

President Zelenskyy said in an interview with scientist Rex Friedman's U.S. podcast on the 5th local time that Trump is the right person to end the war in Ukraine given his unprecedented influence.

Regarding how to stop Russia's invasion, he said, "President Trump has all the possibilities as well as his will," adding, "It's not just a wordplay, but me and the people really trust and lean on him."

President Zelenskyy stressed that Trump has enough power to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.

Rex Friedman's podcast is a popular media outlet in the U.S. in his 20s and 30s, and Trump also appeared on the podcast during his campaign and expressed his belief.

President Zelensky's interview is seen as Ukraine's strategic approach to getting closer to Trump.

In particular, President Zelenskyy poured diplomatic praise in this interview, saying that Trump's influence is unprecedented in the history of the U.S. president, given the reaction of European leaders to Trump's individual president.

He also said that every European leader always asks "how was it" when I met, called or talked to Donald Trump in person, and "this proves Donald Trump's influence, and this has never happened before with regard to the U.S. president."

President Zelensky reiterated that he is confident that Trump's influence will allow him to end the war in Ukraine.

President Zelensky said the end-of-war strategy to be pursued after the inauguration of the Trump administration consists of two stages: an agreement with President Trump and negotiations with Russia.

"Trump and I will come to an agreement and the U.S. will provide strong security guarantees with Europe, and then we can negotiate with Russia."

He also said that if Ukraine and the United States first agree on an end-of-war plan, Europe will support Ukraine's position.

On security guarantees, President Zelensky replied that he prefers to join the collective defense system following NATO membership.

"Without security guarantees, Putin comes back," he said, adding that the West should at least guarantee security on Ukrainian territory not occupied by Russia and maintain arms aid, economic sanctions against Russia.

President Zelensky warned that it would be the "end of NATO" if the U.S. left NATO, as Trump threatened to share security costs.

"Security guarantees are not possible without the United States," he said, adding that Europe's military power alone cannot prevent Russia's invasion.
