Jeonju University of North Jeolla Province said its research team led by Professor Jang Jin-hae of the Carbon Research Institute succeeded in developing an "eco-friendly colorless and transparent flexible semiconductor substrate."
The research team said that eco-friendly colorless and transparent flexible semiconductor substrates are characterized by strong durability against bending while maintaining excellent thermal and mechanical performance.
Thanks to these advantages, the research team expects that it will be highly likely to be used in wearable devices that can be worn on the body.
Professor Jang Jin-hae of Jeonju University said, "The basic material of the substrate developed this time is also characterized by increased environmental friendliness," adding, "After successfully developing such a substrate for the first time in the world, we have applied for patents to the U.S., Europe, and Japan and are waiting for registration."
