At the time of the disaster, Kim Young-hwan, the governor of North Chungcheong Province, had a fierce battle.

Chungcheongbuk-do's parliamentary audit began with a silent tribute to the victims of the Osong disaster.

There was sharp criticism from opposition lawmakers over Chungcheongbuk-do's response during the Osong disaster.

[Lee Kwang-hee / Democratic Party of Korea National Assembly member: On the day of the accident, even after receiving a disaster text from the Geumgang Flood Control Center, he did not check the level of Mihocheon Stream. The same goes for road businesses. As you can see, Chungbuk Provincial Office has done nothing.]

In particular, there was a war of words regarding North Chungcheong Province Governor Kim Young-hwan's visit to Seoul and his belated arrival at the site on the day of the disaster at a time when an emergency response stage was issued due to heavy rain the day before the disaster.

[Yong Hye-in / Member of the Basic Income Party: There were reports that seven people died after a disaster on the underground road in North Chungcheong Province, but he went to the scene after looking around the Oksan Mountain and eating Jjageul for lunch with the staff]

[Kim Young-hwan / Chungcheongbuk-do Governor: What do you think I'm such an irresponsible governor who doesn't go there but goes somewhere else after hearing that the residents of North Chungcheong Province have been sacrificed?]

The ruling party lawmakers said efforts are needed to recover the victims' damage, but stressed the need to come up with measures to prevent the same disaster from repeating.

[Bae Joon-young / People's Power: The Osong disaster is a real national pain. So you should reflect on what you did wrong in the past and take responsibility if you have anything to take responsibility for. But isn't it also a matter of how we should go about it in the future?]

The bereaved families of the Osong disaster, who attended the parliamentary audit, pointed out that it was disappointing to avoid responsibility.

[Lee Joong-hoon / bereaved family of Osong disaster: I was hoping that he would acknowledge his responsibility, but I'm deplorable to see him being irresponsible until the end]

After the parliamentary audit, lawmakers visited the Gungpyeong 2 underground roadway where the Osong disaster occurred and looked at safety facilities installed after the accident.

The National Audit of Chungcheongbuk-do, where the Osong Underpass disaster was discussed, ended with a tour of the accident site.
