A resolution contest and a grand debate were held at the National Assembly to attract the second Central Police School to Namwon, North Jeolla Province.
Organized by Namwon-si City and Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, the event was discussed following the theme of "the necessity and role of the second central police school in response to changes in the future security environment."
The National Police Agency is pushing to build a second central police school that can accommodate 5,000 people annually, saying that the central police academy alone has limitations in training new police officers. Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do, Asan-si, Chungnam, and Yesan-gun are competing to host the school.
