Park Dae-sung's lawyer admitted to the murder following the first trial, but repeatedly denied the indictment that he had visited bars and karaoke bars after the crime to prepare for additional murder, saying, "It is difficult to determine if there was a purpose of murder because I cannot remember because I was drunk (blackout)."

According to the prosecution's earlier indictment, Park chased A, who was walking on a road in Jeongwon-dong, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do, 800 meters, and wielded a weapon to death at around 0:42 a.m. on September 26. After the crime, Park tried to kill only women who ran the business alone for the purpose of secondary murder with a weapon.
He was found to have planned to commit the murder twice, including hiding a weapon and stopping by a bar to order alcohol or entering a karaoke room and calling the owner to his room.
