As Hangul calligraphy was announced to be designated as a national intangible heritage, the World Calligraphy Jeonbuk Biennale Organizing Committee welcomed it, saying it served as an opportunity to promote Hangul's tradition and excellence at home and abroad.

At the same time, Hangeul calligraphy was evaluated as a cultural asset that cannot be seen in other language cultures, expressing the aesthetic value of Hangeul's unique curves and forms in various fonts.

The organizing committee has been conducting a signature campaign by submitting an application to the National Heritage Administration in September last year to register Hangul calligraphy as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
