While the second Trump administration of the U.S. predicted a strong public check policy, the Korean government discussed trade countermeasures with Korean companies that have entered China.

Trade Minister Jeong In-kyo of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a meeting with companies operating in China, including semiconductors, batteries, and automobiles, as well as the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy and KOTRA.

At the meeting, Chung said he will continue to monitor changes in the global trade environment and strive for a stable business environment for our companies through high-level cooperation channels with China.

As China is South Korea's largest trading partner and its supply chain is closely linked, the government and businesses have begun to come up with countermeasures ahead of the launch of the second Trump administration.
