National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik urged Yoon Suk Yeol's president not to confuse the country anymore and to take responsible action in judicial proceedings.
At the plenary session of the National Assembly, Chairman Woo said, "As the head of the legislature, it is not right to watch the constitutional value being denied, so I will say something."
He then pointed out that issuing an arrest warrant for a sitting president is a great national misfortune, but it is even more disastrous for the president to use his physical force to refuse due law enforcement.
He also stressed that the stability of state affairs and the recovery of external credibility are to show that Korea moves normally in accordance with democracy and constitutional procedures, saying the world is watching.
Chairman Woo's remarks led to protests among members of the People's Power in the plenary session.
