Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon dismissed Lee Jae-myung's basic income as a "disaster at the moment it is implemented."
Mayor Oh said in a questionnaire to the Seoul Metropolitan Council today (19th), "Not only is basic income impossible to raise funds, but who will live hard if money comes in at no cost?"
In the case of "didimdol income," which is being piloted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government instead of basic income, the rate of escape from income guarantees in the second year of implementation increased 8.7% and earned income increased 30%, he said, adding that it has been proven to increase motivation to work while eliminating the welfare square system.
