'Imagine your Korea' chosen as S.Korea's new tourism slogan

South Korea now has a new slogan for tourism, 'Imagine your Korea,' which has been chosen to enhance the country's image as a multifaceted tourist destination.

The slogan was jointly announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization at a ceremony held in Seoul yesterday (Tuesday). Their goal is to attract 20 million tourists by the year 2020.

The new slogan aims to stimulate the imagination of foreigners to the endless charm of Korea, while capturing the scenic beauty, shopping, K-pop and dramas, as well as its traditional culture.

The branding of the slogan features motifs from the 'saekdong,' the multi-colored sleeve of the hanbok, and the 'sangmo,' the traditional spinning hat. The two traditional design elements were chosen to capture the vitality and diversity of Korea.
