Korean-Canadian pastor possibly detained in N.Korea: report

A Korean-Canadian pastor who visited Pyongyang in January has reportedly been missing for more than a month and may have been detained in the communist state.

The local Korea Times Daily reported that Rev. Lim Hyun-soo, head pastor at a Presbyterian church in Toronto, has lost contact with his family after visiting Pyongyang on January 31.

North Korea's anti-Ebola virus measures require a three-week quarantine for foreign visitors but the time frame has been far exceeded by Lim.

The local daily said Canadian authorities have offered Lim's family a consular service which can be interpreted as Lim being unable to leave North Korea on his own. Lim has been involved in a variety of missionary work in North Korea for over 20 years.
