MLB's Cardinals set to sign pitcher Oh Seung-Hwan

The St. Louis Cardinals of the U.S. Major League Baseball have reportedly agreed to sign South Korean relief pitcher Oh Seung-Hwan.

The 33-year-old has passed his physical test, prompting the U.S. team to hold a press conference later today (Monday) for an official announcement of its contract signing with Oh, according to U.S. news reports.

Oh is known to be one of the best relievers in Asia and expected to get a shot to be outstanding as a setup man.

Oh holds a career 1.81 ERA (earned run average) and a 722 strikeouts to 149 walks ratio over 646.1 innings pitched in the Korean and the Japanese leagues across his 11 season baseball career.

Before moving his career to Japan in 2014, Oh did relief work for the Samsung Lions of the Korean Baseball Organization.
