Kim Jong-un, a Britney Spears fan

This is presumed to be an instruction sent by Kim Jong-chol to a European embassy staff member, Mr. A, on February 25, 2011.

He attached a photo, asking Mr. A to purchase eight different types of T-shirts with Eric Clapton designs and to send him the receipt.

The request specified five XX-Large shirts and three X-Large shirts.

Of the three X-Large shirts, only one was for a woman, and the remaining seven were for men.

Mr. A reported that he purchased six of the requested types and informed Pyongyang of the expected delivery date and prices.

The XX-Large T-shirts was suspected to be intended for Kim Jong-un, who was designated as successor in February 2011.

Kim Jong-chol reportedly decorated everything, from his guitar to accessories, sheet music, and clothes, with Eric Clapton designs, and he played Clapton songs on weekends.

It has been reported that Chairman Kim Jong-un and his wife enjoyed participating in Kim Jong-chol's band performances as a means of relieving stress.

On weekends, “Kim Jong-chul created a band called ‘Satbyeol’ and Kim Jong-un also participated, and Ri Sol-ju sang songs. It seems that he used it as a means of relieving stress with people close to him.”

Kim Jong-un is known to be a fan of American singer Britney Spears and "Baby One More Time" is his favorite song to sing.

Attached is a file containing the list of seven DVDs and CDs that Mr.A purchased on January 15, 2009, according to instructions.

All items on the list were Britney Spears songs, with order numbers, dates, prices, and an Amazon account number included.

Regarding this, Director Lee Yoon-geol stated, “It is understood that Kim Jong-chol placed the order at the request of Kim Jong-un.”

“It is said that when Kim Jong-un and Kim Jong-chol performed together, they listened to Britney Spears songs. also Kim Jong-un would personally listen to DVDs obtained through Kim Jong-chol whenever he had the chance.”

While the supreme leader admires an American singer and his brother idolizes a British one, ordinary North Korean citizens face harsh punishment if caught enjoying foreign music.
