Constitutional Court set to determine fate of UPP

The Constitutional Court will determine the fate of the left-leaning minor opposition Unified Progressive Party (UPP) on Friday.

The court ruling comes after the Ministry of Justice filed the petition with the Court to disband the UPP, the first of its kind in the country's history, in November last year.

The party is alleged to have conspired a pro-North Korean revolution, a move which violates the basic democratic order stipulated by the Constitution.

The disbandment order will be effective immediately, if more than six out of the nine court judges agree.
